I just got to Peru! I have jetlag and I am exhausted, but I can`t stop exploring now. I am scheduled to have a tour at Machu Picchu. It is the lost Incan city. I toured it today and it was amazing and beautiful. Did you know it wasn't found until 1911 by a man named Hiram Bingham? Recent research also said that it must`ve once been a ceremonial center. Sorry, I am going on and on listing facts. At Machu Picchu there were so many ancient buildings. It was so cool because it was on top of a mountain. I can`t believe that I can say I have been to Machu Picchu!

On the second day I saw  the most beautiful waterfall I`ve ever seen. It was Gocta falls. This unique waterfall has two drops. It flows to the Cocahuayco river and it is 2,530 feet long! Wow! Gocta is also the 14th tallest waterfall in the world, so it`s huge. It was beautiful, like Machu Picchu and I got to take pictures to show my whole family. I saw some crazy dude jump off of it. But it turned out he was just bungee jumping. I almost peed my pants because I thought he was going to die. After the long hike up the mountain I was relieved to go downhill, but it was totally worth it. I was excited for the next adventure that awaits.

Sadly, my third day was the last in Peru. I saw the canyon, Colca Canyon to sum up my thrilling adventure to Peru. It was amazing and beautiful, like everything else in Peru. It is about 3,400m at its deepest point and two times deeper than the Grand Canyon! I was excited to go on the 3 mile hike, although I was still sore from the hike up to Gocta Falls. I took as many pictures as I could to put in my scrapbook. Once I got back from the hike it was time to start packing. I was really disappointed but I was glad that I could say I`ve been to Peru. Goodbye Peru.

Going to Bolivia [Makade R.]

Bolivia

Last weekend me and some of my friends went to Bolivia. It was great! I loved the kinds of food they had their! There were llauchas there all over the streets of the city's and their really good actually. Then we went to the worlds highest capital of any country.
La Paz is the capital of the country. It's about 13,400 ft. and there is always activities and things going on for everybody. We saw this one guy biking down the worlds most dangerous road.
We went to La Paz for the first part of the trip to save cash. One night at a hotel costs as little as $6.00 a night.
Me and my friends visited the Pampas while we were there. The jungle life and climate was so different to what we might think it is in America. There was literally hundreds of different species of animals we saw in that jungle. I loved my experience in Bolivia and I recommend it to everyone.

Seth B.

First of all I would like to say that I apologize for not posting as much as I usually do, but the thing is I was out of the country and into Guyana, South America. Anyway I couldn't post because I don't have international internet access. So I know you guys are dying to here about my trip, so I'll just dive right in.

The first day of my three day trip I spent at the top of Mount Roraima, Guyana. Let me just say that its freakishly high. I mean we're above the clouds high. Anyway, at one part of the mountain there is a site seeing place where, if you pay more money, can watch Guyana's magnificeint birds perch. So that was a blast.

On the second day, we decided to take a trip to one of Guyana's many forests. There we animal watching. At first we only saw a few Toucans, but the deeper we climbed in, the more we saw. First, we saw a cougar drag its kill up a tree. Then we saw monkeys swinging on vines and using there very curios minds to open coconuts. Finally, we saw the main beauty, a red Cotinga (which is native/unique to Guyana). It was a beautiful site seeing it fly.

Finally, the last day we didn't know where to go, but a native pointed out the Guyana Zoo. So, we decided to give it a try, and what a place to go. They had everything. From poisonous snakes (which wasn't an exhibit) to hippos. And on the airplane ride home all I could think about was the magnifiect view of the Roraima mountains.

Hi my name is Ryan N. I went to a Spanish speaking country called Peru. Peru is a great place to go unless you don't have a Spanish dictionary then you can't talk to hardly any one. You can go to a lot of places in Peru. I only visited 3 places. the first place was Machu Picchu. Machu Picchu is a great place to go. I took lots of pictures.

Machu Picchu is a beautiful place. It is an old city that is made out of stone. It is high on a mountain. There is a lot of plant and animal life. There are also beautiful flowers there too. Then I went to the temple of  Pachacomac it is an ancient structure. The temple is super beautiful and it is  huge. It looked like it was made of sand from far away. Lima was where I stayed. It was so beautiful and  huge. There were sky scrapers close to where I stayed. I was in a huge hotel right on the beach. My trip to Peru was awesome. I had so much fun I wish I could go back there again.
